A popular bitter liqueur (classified as an amaro) that is still produced using the original 1868 recipe of natural ingredients with herbs, roots, and citrus - the full ingredient list is still unknown however among the mysterious blend there is essential oils of bitter lemons, pomegranade, juniper berries, rosemary, sage and myrtle. The result is an exquisite dark brown, thick and bittersweet liqueur.
Known as a classic digestif, this liqueur is mostly served by itself however it works wonderfully in cocktails as well.
